Sitting still for hours is tough on the body. Here’s what I do to keep going without paying for it later.
Move every hour. Stand up, stretch, walk to the kitchen. A short break beats a heroic push.
Try the 20-20-20 rule. Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. It’s an easy way to rest your eyes.
Check your posture. Screen at eye level, feet flat, shoulders loose. If you’re leaning toward the monitor, move the monitor.
Look after your wrists. Keep them neutral and take breaks from the mouse.
None of this is complicated. It’s just easy to forget when you’re in the zone.
