Everyone told me to upgrade. Wider screen, higher refresh rate, thinner bezels. I nodded, browsed a few listings, and then went back to my old 4:3 panel.
It’s not nostalgia, or not only nostalgia. A narrower screen means fewer tabs, fewer windows, and less room for distractions. Everything I’m working on sits in front of me, and there’s nowhere to hide.
The pixels are bigger too. Text is a little rougher and edges are a little harder, and somehow it all feels more honest. Nothing is trying to look smooth or premium. It just does the job.
Will I upgrade eventually? Probably. For now, the box stays on the desk.
